Stay Top-of-Mind, [FIRST NAME GOES HERE]

Does your nonprofit hit the pause button during the summer, Reader?

The “summer slowdown” happens across various industries. It’s a time for leaders and staff to relax, go on vacation, or spend time with their families. It’s much deserved.

But summer “slowdown” doesn’t mean “stop” when it comes to your nonprofit marketing.

Like it or not, we’re in an attention economy. That means the nonprofits that stay top-of-mind during slow times have a greater chance of achieving desired outcomes when it’s time to make an ask or advance advocacy through Q3 and end-of-year appeals.

That doesn’t mean blasting your audience with random emails – that means implementing an intentional, human-centered email strategy now to continue building trust.

What happens when we plop on the couch and prop our feet up? We scroll. We check email. We engage with apps and websites. People are still paying attention.

Something will get your supporters’ attention no matter what. It might as well be you!

Email marketing for nonprofits soared in 2025, and I don’t think it’s slowing down in 2026.

But it is changing. We’ve got *motions around frantically* a lot going on that is out of our control. Mass layoffs in a rocky job market. High gas prices and other turmoil. Supporter fatigue and skepticism may make the donor journey take longer than you’ve experienced in the past.

Supporters still care, but some need to change how they show their support in this season.

I want you to stay consistent in this “slow” time, Reader.

Show up in their inbox with intention.

Ask for feedback.

Tell them thank you.

Show your impact.

Supporters are paying attention. They’ll notice.

Consistency and intention strengthen supporter relationships... Especially when partnered with a strong email strategy.

Email strategy is actually the thing nonprofit leaders ask me about most. They know they should send emails, but they’re overwhelmed trying to figure out what to say, when to send it, and what the analytics actually mean.

That’s why I created the Individual Giving Igniter, a budget-friendly partnership where I provide you with email strategy for the quarter and give your team customizable templates and tools. No guesswork. Just a guide for your next best step in email.

Check it out here. Let’s keep your mission moving this summer… even if it feels like a snail’s pace, you’re still moving forward. 🐌💖

Stay kind,

-Amanda
